PJP-25UR Firmware Updater (Firmware ver.1.19 / Controller ver.1.23)

To use the firmware Ver.1.19, PJP-25UR Controller must be updated to Ver.1.23. By downloading and running the above-mentioned updater, "the firmware and PJP-25UR Controller" can be updated simultaneously. If PJP-25UR Controller is Ver.1.21 or older, it is not possible to update the firmware to Ver.1.19 or later versions.

Firmware Version 1.19 (updated: Jan. 13, 2009)

The behavior stability has been improved when using simultaneously with other USB devices which require a lot of frequency.

When using the control application, Ver.1.21 or older versions are not usable.

The main unit restarts by changing the mode between "Mic & Speaker" and "Speaker" on the control application.

[Caution]
When switching the mode between "Mic & Speaker" and "Speaker", connection failure to active applications (e.g. Web conference system, media player) or behavior failure may occur. Close the applications beforehand.

  • While "Wide" or "Mono" is selected in the "Speaker" mode, if the mode is changed to "Mic & Speaker", and then returned to "Speaker", "Stereo" is always selected.
  • When "Mic & Speaker / Speaker" is assigned to the short cut function, if you disconnect the USB cable and then connect it again while the "Speaker" mode is selected, the unit starts with the "Speaker" mode.

When canceling the microphone mute function while the "Speaker" mode is selected, the main unit restarts.

PJP-25UR Updater
  • Updates / installs the firmware and control application of PJP-25UR.
  • If the control application has been already installed and firmware update is not required, it is possible to update only the control application.

PJP-25UR Controller application Version 1.23 (updated: Jan. 13, 2009)

When updating the firmware to Ver.1.19, also the controller application must be updated to Ver.1.23.

On the firmware Ver. 1.19 or later, the confirmation massage for restarting PJP-25UR appears, when switching the mode between "Mic & Speaker" and "Speaker". The mode is changed only if an acceptance is obtained.

The confirmation massage appears when the following operations are performed.

  • when "Mic & Speaker" on the application is pressed
  • when "Speaker" on the application is pressed
  • when the mode has been changed on completion of the wizard on the application
  • when the microphone mute function is canceled on the application while the controller is in the "Speaker" mode

* The massage does not appear when performing with the shortcut function of PJP-25UR or on the OS.

A dialog appears while PJP-25UR is restarting. The dialog appears in the following cases.

  • <If the firmware of main unit is Ver.1.10-1.18>
    • when "Mic & Speaker Control via USB" is changed
    • when restart is required due to reset
  • <If the firmware of main unit is Ver.1.19>
    • when "Mic & Speaker" on the application is pressed
    • when "Speaker" on the application is pressed
    • when the "Speaker" mode is changed by using the shortcut function of the main unit
    • when "MIC MUTE" on the main unit or application is pressed while the controller is in the "Speaker" mode
    • when the mode has been changed on the completion of the setting wizard

The dialog disappears when the window of controller is hidden or the control window is initialized due to the detection of PJP-25UR.

Version 1.17 (updated: Aug. 25, 2008)

Echo Canceller has been improved.

The "Environment" setting has been added. (The "Echo Canceller Effect" setting has been discontinued.)

  • In the "Environment" setting, you can select between "Normal" and "Conference Room".
  • Normal: Select this mode when using in an office or open space.
  • Conference Room: Select this mode when using in a relatively quiet environment. This mode is highly-sensitive and picks up the audio from a larger area.

The "Environment" setting can now be configured by the keys of the PJP-25UR.

  • Pressing MENU/PC and VOLUME – at the same time switches the "Environment" setting to "Normal" and the middle LED blinks for three seconds.
  • Pressing MENU/PC and VOLUME + at the same time switches the environment setting to "Conference Room" and all the three LEDs blink for three seconds.

The microphone sensitivity has been optimized to make the audio clearer.

  • The microphone sensitivity has been lowered in default configuration in order not to pick up the audio more than necessary.
  • If you need the microphone sensitivity which is equivalent to 0dB of Ver. 1.13 or before, drug the slider bar to the following position in "Mic level" of the PJP-25UR Controller.
    • When using in "Normal": One scale (large dot) higher from the center
    • When using in "Conference Room": Near the center

For details, refer to "User's Manual".

Version 1.12 (updated: Mar. 4, 2008)
[Improved sound quality]
  • Echo Canceller
The Echo Canceller function has been improved.
[Specification change]
  • Microphone levels changed
Because the microphone gain is high, sound quality is sometimes compromised depending on the settings of the communication application (Web conferencing, etc.). To correct this problem, the microphone gain levels have been changed. As a result, the default pickup range setting may be slightly low. If so, the pickup range can be adjusted by raising the microphone levels using the microphone level adjustment of the PJP-25UR controller.
For details, see p12-13 in "User's Manual" and the "PJP-25UR Controller" help.
[Added function]
  • Microphone & speaker control via USB
It is now possible to adjust or select the PJP-25UR microphone and speaker levels from within the sound settings of the PC. The default setting is ON.
For details, see p12-13 in "User's Manual" and the "PJP-25UR Controller" help.
  • Microphone audio band selection
A microphone audio band selection function has been added. By selecting an appropriate audio band, communication applications (Web conferencing etc.) are enabled with optimal sound quality. The default setting is "Normal" (7 kHz band).
For details, see p12-13 in "User's Manual" and the "PJP-25UR Controller" help.
  • Added function: New speaker mode
A "Wide" mode has been added to the modes of sound reproduction from the speakers.
For details, see p12-13 in "User's Manual" and the "PJP-25UR Controller" help.
  • New firmware upgrade method
Once firmware (a bin file) has been downloaded to the PC, it can now be transferred to the PJP-25UR.
For details, see p19 in "User's Manual".
